A scenic chopper flight with Fleet Helicopters over the New England Region seems like the only way you can really get an understanding of Armidale’s unbelievable surrounding landscape. The city sits on the highest elevation in the country, the flat plains feel endless as you’re driving in surrounded by farmland, with golden grass shining in the morning sun.
Yet its backyard is on steroids. Surrounded by four National Parks within a one-hour radius (by car) and 20 National Parks within 2 hours.
As soon as we took off, our pilot James Rainger brought the landscape to life on their special “tour of the gorges”.
“Get out and see these little less known places because there is some wonderful experiences that are not high up on the radar – be willing to explore – be willing to try something a little different and you’ll be surprised at what you find – surprised and inspired.”
