Accessible only by boat, airplane or trekking, this part of Australia, the most southern and wild, is pristine, protected, serene and a marine life paradise. Tannins leached from the Melaleuca trees means the water is darker than a 2002 Shiraz so not only are the reflections of mountains spectacular, but the marine life is what you would only see in the deepest seas – yep, those critters are right there while you picnic in serenity on a white pebbled beach!
