Camino de Santiago pilgrimage

Jen Adams | September 15, 2015 | 4:30 am | 1 Comment

Buen Camino from Portugal!

Everyone does the Camino de Santiago to Santiago de Compostela for different reasons.

Whether it’s religious, spiritual, a love of walking or simply the adventure itself. Whatever your reason, it’s your own reason.

Like my fellow pilgrims, I too am here for my own reason – I have left the film crew behind, wanted to throw the backpack on and take a breath, while fascinated by the story not only of St James, but of those who have taken this journey before us.

Well, day one and already I am in heaven….

From the locals we have met who warmly welcomed us into their little towns, to our fellow pilgrims. The conversations, the silence, passing through tiny towns with the sounds of church bells ringing that have done so for hundreds of years.

Right now I am surround by corn fields and the sound of the church bell ringing, some of us are drinking red wine around a pool (resting our feet!) others are chatting away, eating grapes they’ve picked from the vines of our farm.

Anyway, I filmed this little chat with fellow pilgrim Dawn today, I just couldn’t resist getting the iPhone out and capturing this trip. What a truly special soul she is. Thought she summed up the feelings of us all beautifully.

Looks like a great thing to do and something we have been thinking of for 2016. Hope you have more postings of your walk.
