The Tattersalls Hotel is a complete surprise. It’s not what you expect in a regional city – more a high-end boutique hotel in Sydney. At 170 years old, it has recently undergone a five-year renovation – clearly a passion project for owners the Cassidy family, who put every finishing touch to bring it into its former glory of its “art deco” heyday.
I was lucky enough to stay in a suite which was complete luxury – and the food was exceptional. The chefs, from all over the world, proudly shared how they celebrate all things “paddock-to-plate” in the restaurant.
And you must check out the very cool “Pizzeria”. When we were there, it was filled with the locals of Armidale, of all different age groups, busily feasting on gourmet pizza and cocktails. It was hard to believe we were surrounded by rolling farmland and World-Heritage Listed National Parks.
I highly recommend this charming hotel.
