Our favourite Australian drives

Places We Go Team | May 5, 2018 | 2:00 pm | 8 Comments

Join us as we share our favourite Australian drives – beginning with the iconic Great Ocean Road. This incredible coastline road is also the world’s largest war memorial and along it, you are treated to scene after scene of picture-postcard views. We spend time at Wye River, enjoying the BIG4 Wye River Holiday Park which abounds in local wildlife and is blessed with the beach a stones throw away, and the national park behind it. Adjacent is the Wye General Store & Cafe which draws visitors from near and far for its incredible baked treats, brunches and coffee, plus artisanal goodies to take home. We also check out the view and the food at the pub with the ‘best views on the Great Ocean Road’, the Wye Beach Hotel.

We also take you to the NT to celebrate the incredible Red Centre Way drive which takes in all the icons of Central Australia, plus the Great Eastern Drive in Tasmania, and one of Victoria’s greatest 4WD routes, the Aberfeldy Track in Gippsland.

Places We Go travelled thanks to BIG4 Holiday Parks, and stayed at BIG4 Wye River Holiday Park.

For a short break the Camden Haven area in NSW. Nice beaches, good scenery, friendly locals good cafe’s. Plenty of things to see and do. For a longer trip it’s hard to go past FNQ. Rainforests, the Reef, Atherton Tablelands, Cape York. The options are endless.

In Australia we like Broome / Kununurra area, with the Kimberley’s stunning scenery, Ord River and Lake Argyle and the Bungle Bungles all lovely places to see.

So many beautiful places. Recently traveled to NT . Litchfield was beautiful but would have to say Kings Canyon took my breath away in more ways than one but so so worth the rim walk.
