Welcome to Armidale

Places We Go Team | February 24, 2021 | 12:21 pm | 1 Comment

As the locals of Armidale, in NSW will tell you – it’s a hidden treasure.

Known as the “city of cathedrals”, it’s a cosmopolitan regional city with a thriving art and culture scene and an almighty backyard – four World-Heritage Listed National Parks within a one-hour radius including the famous Wollomombi Gorge – home to the highest falls in the country. Oh, and there’s 20 more National Parks within a 2-hour radius.

With a population of just twenty-five thousand people, my adventure was one of constant surprises. With National Parks, art and culture, rich aboriginal history and a paddock-to-plate food scene, plus wineries and craft-breweries, it makes for a brilliant getaway for the most discerning of travellers.

The area looks like a wonderful area to explore from all aspects, indigenous culture, museums, historic Tattersalls Hotel, and so much more I have not seen.
