Scottish Highlands Rail Journey (Part 2) – Episode 3 Series 12

Places We Go Team | September 1, 2019 | 1:09 am | 5 Comments

Our adventure through the Scottish Highlands with Travelmarvel continues – and we board one of the most famous and scenic railway journeys in the world! Following in the footsteps of Harry Potter, the Jacobite Steam Train is an absolute highlight, but we are also mesmerised by the incredible castles straight out of Scottish history books, incredible canals, and of course, legendary lochs and those mystical monsters!

We travelled on board Travelmarvel’s Edinburgh, the Highlands and Islands escorted rail journey.

I never got to travel on this wonderful viaduct when I was living in Scotland in my 20’s. I am now 84 and would love to go back for a nostalgic visit to see the places where I lived. I am also passionate about steam trains which bring back childhood memories of travelling on them before electric trains replaced them back in the 30’s and 40’s.

I can only imagine what it would’ve been like 60 years ago. You would have some wonderful tales to tell Irene! Thanks for sharing. Cheers Clint

My beautiful wife and myself would love to visit Edinburgh Scotland to catch up with our great ancestors while we are still young enough ( we’re in our seventies ) and look forward to have the old scotch whiskey or two

What a life time experience it would be to win this wonderful trip I have Scottish background but no real knowledge of this other than we have Scottish blood. This would tick the box for us on what we would love to experience together and to also start the journey learning more about my past ancestors 🙏 thank you

“But magazines are dead” some people say. Well not when it’s your mission to also bring all of these wonderful stories alive through our incredible team of film makers and storytellers.
